Ambition Material's Extinction Barium Sulfate is represented by the SG series. The product is produced by the advanced barium carbonate-sulfuric acid method. Its biggest feature is its large particle size, good extinction and light scattering ability, no absorption of visible light, extremely high whiteness and reflectivity, and L value exceeding 99%. Compared with natural barium sulfate, it is purer white and color-neutral. It performs well in matte and semi-matte coating systems.

Coating and ink
Extinction Barium Sulfate's matte effect performs well in matte and semi-matte coating ink systems. Its square crystals with a specific particle size can scatter incident light well, scatter light in multiple directions, reduce specular reflection, and the crystal shape also increases the micro-roughness of the coating surface, forming a discontinuous surface in the coating film, thereby producing a soft matte or high-end semi-matte effect.
Soft matte or high-end semi-matte effects play a unique role in applications that avoid high gloss surfaces such as interior decoration, matte metallic car paint, and high-value artworks.
In addition, Extinction Barium Sulfate is acid- and alkali-resistant and chemically inert, suitable for weather-resistant and chemically acid- and alkali-resistant paint systems, such as ship primers and can coating systems, and can protect the substrate from corrosive substances such as seawater and acid rain.
